Great Outdoors and In have recently refurbished a large Indian Sandstone paved patio for a local client based in Luton, Bedfordshire. The client was after having the Indian sandstone cleaned prior to re-pointing.
It was the first time the Indian Sandstone paving had been pressure washed professionally. The Indian sandstone paving was looking extremely weathered and was suffering from algae blooms and lichen blackspots.
Our approach was simple, firstly we pressure cleaned the paving using 'controlled' pressure washing. Once the majority of the algae was removed, we applied a chemical to break down the remaining algae and attack the lichen black spot deposits.
The paving was then re-pressure washed. In order to protect vulnerable flower borders from the chemical, during this cleaning process we used an Industrial vacuum to recover the waste water, this waste water was transferred onto a gravel walkway.
Using this process, we returned the paving to almost new condition removing 99% of the algae and the lichen black spots.
